Holy Saturday

Job 14:1-14, Psalm 31, 1-4, 15-16, 1 Peter 4:1-8, Matthew 27:57-66

Written in May 2017 and based upon John 6:1-21, this poem may resonate with the very strange times we are sharing this Holy Week:

Sensing the Presence

How do you sense the presence

of the Great I Am

in the midst of the chaos

in the tempestuous uncertainty

that arrives unannounced,

uninvited?

When direction is lost,

uncharted and disoriented

and there can be no reference to an unseen horizon.

When, shocked to the marrow,

sightless

yet bound by tasks – which

may or may not be invaluable –

the one genuine aim is to remain

attentive.

And in the focussing find

you have been found.
